26/05/26. This page has been added in response to a request for a copy of the instructions. In adding it its hit me as a bit of a shock that they date from 2013.
Initially I have added links to the PDF of the instructions for the Merddin Emrys Superstructure and the Power Bogies. There is a lot of additional information in the form of detail photos of Merddin and all the Power Bogies. I don’t have time to add them at the moment and need to work out a format that doesn’t take all my web space or create massive upload & download problems

Now Superstructure images from 2010. Worth bearing in mind that as a hard working engine its had two 10 year boiler overhauls since these images were taken and this week (end of May 2026) is its first in traffic after a 10 year boiler job across this last winter. What I am saying is that it will have changed in small ways.

For those saying, “re-release the kit” it is something I have in mind but there are a bunch of obstacles to overcome: –
- It was a joint production so need to sort out the rights
- The etching company is no more (but I do have the films)
- I don’t have the forming tools for the pre-bent parts
- The company that did all the turned components is no more
- It would need a mod to use a new motor
