The pipe that was carried by the converted high-side gondolas was longer than the gondolas themselves. Therefore, idler cars were required between loaded pipe gons to allow for the overhang of the pipe loads. The 6700 series idler cars were converted from excess 30&#8242; stock cars and 30&#8242; box cars to meet this need, starting in 1955.<\/p>\n<p>This decal set will letter one 6700 series idler flat as they were painted in service on the D&amp;RGW<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">These are WaterSlide Transfers.
